What to expect when joining us at The Friendly Networking Group
We have networking in Witham, Chelmsford, Hertfordshire and online networking. More about each venue is on the events page! You'll also find information about parking.

Our events are designed to be informal, friendly and welcoming to everyone. We have so many people come along and afterwards say they had no need to be nervous. Our group leaders will always look out for you if you haven’t been before.
We don’t have industry lockouts at our events. We thrive on collaboration not competition. By building the like, know and trust factors, people will be more inclined to buy from you. There is also opportunities for people in the same industries to support each other and work together. Locking people out restricts those opportunities.
Grab a drink or order food (usually at the bar or via QR code), if it’s your first time then the group leader will be looking out for you. Find a seat, and once everyone is settled there is a quick round of introductions round the room – this can be just Hi I’m Cheryl and I run The Friendly Networking Group or you can give a little bit information about what you do, whatever you feel comfortable with. We usually then have a guest expert, finishing with any q&a for them and then remaining time can be spent networking.
There is no requirement for a formal pitch or any specific length of introduction. Please do whatever feels comfortable for you.
There is no pitch or anything to prepare, simply bring a pen and a notebook for making those all important contacts and notes from the guest expert. We would recommend you just have a short introduction ready, even if it’s just your name and the name of your business so that everyone in the room knows where to find you if they would like to connect outside of the event.
The group leader will have reached out to you before the event, and will be keeping an eye out for you. You can find group leader details on our website under each location so you know who to look for. You can just get yourself a drink, find a seat and make yourself comfortable, or have a chat with some of the other attendees and start networking right away.
There are lots of benefits to becoming a member! You can pay via a subscription payment so no need to remember to buy a ticket each month, one included ticket to a single location of your choice, discounted tickets to other events, free access to the monthly training sessions which are currently streamed into the TFNG members lounge, business listing on the website, and the opportunity to be member of the month featured in the fortnightly newsletter and across social media.
It is women only at our events. The group was set up by Sidney to support women in business who often are juggling all the things… business, home life, children, life admin etc etc. When women support women, incredible things can happen and we are more powerful as a group working together to support one another.
We have people in the group at all stages of business and welcome everyone whether you haven’t yet launched or have been in business for 20 years.
There are no referral or sales targets. If you enjoy our events or being part of the Facebook group, please do invite any fellow women in business but
